Having spent most of his career in Private and Investment Banking for Europe‘s largest bank, Lawrence, a qualified Financial Planner and Discretionary Investment Manager joined Trust DFM in 2020 as the Business Development Executive.
Lawrence is the main point of contact for our existing and prospect IFA partners and a key member of our team who together with the investment operations and client support teams help our partners achieve their growth and development goals.
With extensive experience in business strategy, market analysis, and a passion for building strong, valuable relationships, Lawrence is a true expert in his field.

We’re enormously proud of the Investment Committee we’ve established here at Trust DFM, as it carries a respectable amount of clout for a DFM of our age. With over a combined century’s worth of seasoned industry specialists, all with first-hand experience of market environments since the 1970’s, our investment committee really know their stuff!

James Sullivan
Chair & Chief Investment Officer
James Joined Trust DFM as the Consultant Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in 2021, on secondment out of his role with Tyndall Investment Management. James has worked in financial services since 1999 and was a founding member of iimia plc. The business witnessed material growth and corporate activity and is now widely known under its new name as Premier Miton Investors. James was co-manager of the Miton Special Situations and Miton Strategic portfolios from 2008, up until his departure in 2014. James left to co-found Coram Asset Management, where he was Managing Director of the UK business and responsible for the suite of the multi-asset solutions.

Mia Rowlinson
Investment Analyst
Mia joined Trust DFM soon after its launch in 2018, having built her analytical skills in the business development industry helping firms improve their operations and client relationships. As well as supporting the investment manager with ongoing research, she has expanded her own skills in investment management and recently achieved the IMC qualification from the CFA UK. Mia works closely with the portfolio managers to provide research for funds already in our model portfolios as well as generating ideas for new funds to be introduced.

Clive Hale
Non-executive Director & Macro-economic expert
Clive is a co-manager on Atlantic House’s Total Return fund and is a former CIO of Skandia Investment Management, as well as having been an Investment Manager and Consultant at Towry (now Tilney BestInvest) and John Scott & Partners. He has over 35 years’ experience of fund research, asset allocation and portfolio management. He is a well-known investment commentator and author of the View From the Bridge blog. Clive is a Chartered Accountant (FCA), a Chartered Financial Technician (CFTe) and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) qualification.

David Scammell
Fixed Income Expert
A Chartered Certified Accountant who has 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, David spent the first ten years as a central banker, working primarily as a portfolio manager in treasury/market operations. During this period, he spent time not just at the Bank of England in London but also with the Bank for International Settlements in Basel and the Central Bank of Finland in Helsinki. After returning to the UK, he has held several senior investment positions within fund management; Head of Global Fixed Income at the United Bank of Kuwait managing bond portfolios for the Kuwaiti Government, then at Schroders he spent over a decade looking after institutional, retail and charity money – most of these portfolios centred around Government bonds and Inflation-linked bonds, and more recently he held a similar role with Santander Bank Asset Management.

James Clunie
Equities & Shorts Expert
James has had a lengthy career as an investment manager and is currently Director at Long-Short Consulting Limited, providing consultancy on investment process design and risk management. Prior to this, he worked as an Investment Manager at firms including Jupiter Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management and was Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Edinburgh. James has a PhD in Management from the University of Edinburgh, is a CFA Charter holder and has published widely, both academically and professionally.
